In 1984, music was written for the historical feature film "Lord Veliky Novgorod" by director Alexei Saltykov, which tells the story of the city's fate in ancient times and in recent times; fragments of this music, including vocal and choral ones, formed the basis of the third symphony-suite. Another composition was built on the basis of the vocal and choral fragments of the film - Triptych for mezzo-soprano solo and mixed choir accompanied by percussion instruments
