For mixed choir and chamber orchestra with piano and organ
A large, 9-part cantata based on liturgical texts.
"The cantata for mixed choir and instrumental ensemble on Church Slavonic texts (in the pre-reform edition), created in 1982 and dedicated to the remarkable choirmaster Klavdy Borisovich Ptitsa, is a striking example of a work oriented toward a genre space outside the church; it uniquely combines adherence to the Orthodox singing tradition with the compositional technique of our time, choral singing with forms of "autonomous" instrumental music."
