For a long time it was considered a lost work.
The recording of the premiere was not preserved.
Conceived by the author as the first part of a cycle of three solo works:
Suite for solo trumpet
Partita for solo cello
Prelude, Dithyramb and Postlude for Organ
All three works were originally designated as opus 19
